AROUND THE WORLD - in Term 3 students willtake imaginary trips to six different continents. We will learn about different countries and how stories change from culture to culture through short plays and activities.

Not all kids have the confidence to don a cape and wear a crown in public but over time and in the right environment drama classes can help boost a child’s confidence and increase their speaking and listening skills.

These drama classes are suitable for children with a whole range of confidence levels. The curriculum includes confidence building exercises, public speaking, role play for social skills, voice work, movement and acting skills. Children work in pairs, groups and with the whole class to experience improvisation, scene development, plays and script work.

Over the course of the year students will explore personal events and fictional stories to create drama. They will begin to develop improvisation skills, exploring possibilities for voice, movement and role. Students will be introduced to the element of situation.

Students will experience drama as performers and audience members, presenting scenes in which they apply drama narratives to link the action with an ending. Students will also view drama based on unfamiliar stories.

As they make and respond to drama, students will experiment with the elements of voice, movement, role and situation. Students will also explore reasons why people make drama.
