Safety lessons for young children.
Helps identify dangers in our homes and communities.
Danger Monsters is a series designed to help young children identify dangers in their environment. Children will be creating their own book with information about each Monster, photographs to glue in and catalogues/pictures to look through to identify those monsters, worksheet and an activity sheet to look for and identify Monsters at home.
From the dangermonsters.com.au website:
"The reason we call the hazards Monsters is to help children make the connection that a hazard is something which CAN hurt them, and WILL hurt them if it is not properly controlled. The goal is not to make children afraid of hazards, but to arm them with both respect for each hazard, and a measure of common sense to enable them to minimise risks to themselves wherever they go and whatever they do."
Students will complete a scrapbook identifying dangers from:
Electricity
Sharp things
Noise
Heat
Biological substances
Machinery
Psycho (Including words spoken by others or self, exposure to violence via TV or video games)
Chemical substances
Gravity
Movement
